EAT THE CHICKEN THROW OUT THE BONES *

" Seven days without church makes one weak". I read this and thought it was great. It reminded me of something that happened in a Saturday service recently.

There were three brothers who came to a service that I was attending. One was a pastor. They came to share God's Word with us.

One of the brothers made a statement that was wrong. This statement was not the root of what he was talking about.

One brother (a member of that church) came to me and said, "Did you hear what he said?" I said that I had and continued to listen to the brother that was speaking. A moment later the brother that had come to me, was talking behind me about the statement. I asked him to be respectful. He got up and walked out.

The visiting pastor preached for about forty minutes. His message was a tremendous blessing to all that heard him. I thought of the brother that had left. I know that he would have been blessed had he stayed.

There is a saying, "Eat the chicken, spit out the bones, even if it is a skinny chicken." If the brother had spit out a couple of bones, he would have been able to feast on a good spiritual meal. We, as men are always being looked upon by others as examples. Being disrespectful and walking out of a service is not being a good example. If my family had been there, I would have explained the statement and the truth to them later.

The brother missed out on a wonderful sermon and some good fellowship.

Hebrews 10:25 says, "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together. As is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching. "We are told in the Bible to come together in Christ for praise, worship and fellowship. Who is going to be the example? You and I must be.

"Seven days without church makes one weak". We need to attend Bible studies, prayer meetings and services every chance we can, and we need to stand and be the example to others. We need to "Eat the chicken and spit out the bones".
